ChessRun - a crazy idea

Today I was playing chess, then I had to interrupt it to get to a local community run on time. Then I had a crazy idea. And I like to go along those ideas, so here we are...

Quick hack to bulk delete activities in Garmin Connect

As of today, the web interface of Garmin Connect does not support bulk delete of activities. I presume, that this feature is not needed by 99% of the users, however, some of us live a dirty life, and sync among different sites, that can result in pretty messy activity data... For those of You who walk the same road as me, this post may provide a little bit of ease in cleaning up the mess.

New shiny logo

The lack of a proper logo for the blog has been bothering me for a while now. As a temporary hot-fix, I've set one of my finisher photos as a profile picture on all of my social media accounts. But finally, the time has come, and I've asked my designer friend, Mate Fekecs to come up with something, that resembles me and my attitude towards running.  Here is the result:

3rd look at my Garmin Virb: Recordings and editing

A few weeks ago I decided to summarize my experiences with the Garmin Virb. Halfway through writing the post I realized, that I need to cut it into two parts. So,  in the first part I only  wrote about portability and the pictures I took , and now I will cover recording and post-editing.

Travel blog entry: the wonderful Iceland

I was lucky enough to win an EEA grant and visit Iceland for teaching. Obviously, I haven't left my running shoes at home, and I tried to get the most out of that trip in terms of running as well.

Quick App review: Relive

A friend of mine has recently showed me a new web-application, Relive, that is a very neat visualization tool for Your activities. At the moment it can connect to the following trackers:
  • Garmin
  • Strava
  • Polar
  • Endomondo
Everything else is simple. Once You connect Your tracker, a nice video will be made from it in an hour or so, and the link will be sent to You. Unfortunately, the app doesn't yet support a list view of previous videos, so bookmark the ones that You like. Here is a nice example from my run yesterday:

Quick tweak: if You want to save the video for later use, or edit it into Your own video, it is easy to get the source file. Just look at the page source and search for ".mp4". (This is exactly how I've uploaded it here.)

And as always: Thanks for reading! Sharing, comments and +1s are always appreciated. You can follow the blog on Google+Twitter, and Facebook. The embedded videos (and others) are collected in the RunnerMate playlist on youtube, and quick running related photos are sshared on my Instagram.

2nd look at my Garmin Virb: Photos and portability

It has been more than 6 months since I started using my Virb. In January I wrote a post  about my first experiences, and I believe that it is time to summarize my experiences since then. This post will focus on the portability  and photos. Experiences with recordings and their editing will be covered in a 3rd post, as this one is long enough already as it is.
